Looks like Gravel Ridge folks might be voting three times.

Yep, It sure does look like the folks in Gravel Ridge will have the final say in this matter. Please encourage your friends, family, neighbors and business owners to vote March 11th.

It's important that however the vote goes in Sherwood that folks vote in either direction. Of course since I bailed out of Jville 20+ years ago and landed in Sherwood, I'm all for Sherwood...

We have to vote and vote "for" Sherwood to annex Gravel Ridge in order to have an election on 1 April 2008. Getting the voters to vote is going to be the hardest part in a "Special Election". Jacksonville choose to "piggyback" their election onto the Presidentual primary in order to get the higher voter turnout and helping insure a "for" vote from Jacksonville voters. I believe that Gravel Ridge voters could have out voted "against" the Jacksonville voters "for" in a "Special Election". Someone needs to get an amendment before the Arkansas House of Representives to make it illigal to attach any annexation election to any other other election. In other words make the playing field level. In a "Special Election" the community to be annexed would have a bigger say in the outcome to the point of maybe voting "no" to both cities as in our situation.
